NJEA Convention 2015 – UCEA Hospitality Luncheon
The UCEA Hospitality Luncheon was held on November 5, 2015 at the Sheraton Hotel. Thanks to all of you that attended. Look forward to seeing you again next year.
UCEA Telephone Bank
The UCEA telephone bank was held on October 27-29, 2015 at the UCEA office. Thanks to all that came out to support the telephone bank.
ESP Dinner Workshop
The Union County Educational Support Professional dinner workshop was held on November 18, 2015 at the Westwood in Garwood, NJ. The event began with vendors from NJEA Member Benefits, followed by a Gangs Workshop which was presented by the New Jersey Prosecutors Office, dinner and door prizes. During this event the UCEA selected Cathy Sharp, Paraprofessional, from Union Township as the ESP of the Year for Union County. Thanks to each of you for all you do for Union County.
LAT Meet & Greet
The UCEA Legislative Action Team Meet & Greet was held on November 13th at Mario’s, Union, NJ. All Senators, Assemblyman/Assemblywoman, Freeholders were invited to attend this event. Those that attended were Senator Ray Lesniak, Senator Kean, Assemblyman Holley, newly elected Assemblyman Kennedy, Freeholder Granados, Uniserv Region 15, NJEA Government Relations Fran Pfeffer, and Union County Members. Thanks to UCEA Government Relations Co-Chairs Nancy Lucas Miller and Lance Hilfman for a wonderful event.
UCEA/NJEA Professional Development Workshop For UCEA Members (retired members not eligible)

Save Your Teen Driver
The UCEA hosted their first Save Your Teen Driver PRIDE event. In attendance, Union County Sheriff Joe Cryan and Bob Ragazzo, President of Save Your Teen Driver along with UCEA Officers James Frazier, 1st VP, Frank Stebbins, Treasurer, and Brian Kenyon, Pride Chairperson. Thanks to everyone that attended.
The UCEA Annual Legislative Dinner was held on April 21, 2015 at The Westwood. In attendance were Senator Ray Lesniak, Assemblyman John Bramnick, Assemblyman Jerry Green, Assemblyman Jamel Holley, Assemblywoman Annette Quijano, Freeholders Bruce Bergen, Linda Carter, and Vernell Wright. NJEA Vice President Marie Blistan was the keynote speaker.

UCEA Educational Support Professional of the Year
Read Across America
Union County Education Association sponsored Read Across America read-a-thons at the Barnes & Noble store in Springfield, NJ. Groups of children, from schools throughout the county, enjoyed hearing books read by Freeholder Vernell Wright, Freeholder Alexander Mirabella, Freeholder Sergio Granados, Assemblyman Jamel Holley, Freeholder Christopher Hudak, Freeholder Bette Jane Kowalski, Steven Fernandez representative from Senator Booker’s office, staff and student teachers. We provided gift bags and we also purchased books that were given away to the children. Also, the New Jersey Hall of Fame’s Mobile Museum was there which showcased stories of true greatness.
